                                                                                           City walks represent a style of urban exploration that allows you to

                                                                                           In Kunming, the best places for city walks are the historic streets.
                                                                                         Among these time-honored alleys, Guanghua Street, Wenming Street,
                                                                                         Jingxing Street, Qianwang Street, and Yongdao Street stand out as the
                                                                                         most vibrant. The oldest buildings along these streets boast a histo-
                                                                                         ry of nearly 900 years, reflecting the local customs of Kunming and
                                                                                         showcasing its distinctive flavors. You can enjoy afternoon tea, watch
                                                                                         courtyard dramas, listen to ballads, sample snacks, and wander through
                                                                                         the night market. Here, architectural artistry, historical memory, multi-
                                                                                         culturalism, ethnic traditions, and urban life come together, with every
                                                                                         brick and every tile telling a timeless story.
                                                                                           In Yuxi, Beimen Street in Hongta District is a must-visit. This
                                                                                         well-preserved historical and cultural neighborhood serves as the
                                                                                         spiritual heart of Yuxi’s heritage. Beimen Street is home to the former
                                                                                         residence of the renowned musician Nie Er, the composer of China’s
                                                                                         national anthem, “March of the Volunteers,” built by his great-grand-
                                                                                         father over 100 years ago. As you stroll down Beimen Street and turn
                                                                                         onto Renmin Road, you’ll find a historical commercial area dotted with
                                                                                         many time-honored shops. Continuing along Wenhua Road, you’ll en-
                                                                                         counter a variety of stores, including audio and video shops and tailor
                                                                                         shops, evoking a sense of nostalgia for days gone by.
                                                                                           Pu’er is also a fantastic destination for city walks. If you want to ex-
                                                                                         perience the most authentic essence of Pu’er, Daijia Alley beckons with
                                                                                         its interplay of light and shadow. Here, you’ll find mottled stone bricks,
                                                                                         ancient buildings, and charming courtyards where you can sip tea, read
                                                                                         a book, enjoy coffee, or simply take in the streetscape. The aroma of
                                                                                         time fills the air, inviting you to immerse yourself in the beauty and
                                                                                         tranquility of this unique place.
