People-to-people connectivity and long-lasting friendship
收官亦是启幕 共叙民心相通
On December 1, the closing ceremony for the 2025
Lancang-Mekong Audiovisual “Quality Learning Program”
was hosted in Kunming. Media professionals from the eight
participating countries presented their group projects and
shared their key takeaways from the training. Spontane-
ously, a common sentiment emerged: despite hailing from
different nations, their pursuit of beauty remains a shared,
unifying aspiration.
Chhay Uddam, Deputy Director of the Overseas Com-
munication Department, TV News Division, National
Television of Cambodia (TVK), believes that with their
powerful visual and auditory impact, audiovisual works
can quickly bridge language and cultural barriers, allowing
global audiences to intuitively understand news events and
connect with them emotionally. “This 2025 Lancang-Me-
kong Audiovisual ‘Quality Learning Program’ international
media elite training course not only strengthened exchang-
es and interactions among media journalists from various
countries but also helped us all enhance our professional
skills,” he said.
Md. Shide Mahadey Sakender, a journalist from Bang-
ladesh’s ATN News, mentioned that participating in the
planning, filming, and editing during this training course
not only honed his professional abilities but also gave him
a deeper appreciation for the important role media profes-
sionals play in fostering people-to-people connectivity and
promoting international friendship.
“Media professionals should leverage their expertise to
build bridges that connect hearts,” said Papinvit Ongbang-
noi, Director of the TV Program Creative Design Depart-
ment, National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT). “A Chinese saying goes, seeing once is better than hear- “Telling Lancang-Mekong stories from a young per-
