During the more than four-
hour performance, over 50 pro-

cession. Highlights included the
passionate violin performance of
“Ode to the Elephant King,” the
heartfelt song “Railway Enhances
China-Laos Friendship,” the flow-
ing melodies of “Huayao Dai Wel-

tricks and acrobatics that left the audi-

performances such as “Sasen Bimai,” “Sanduojiao,”
and “Love Song of Packet Tossing” ignited the audience’s
enthusiasm, encouraging everyone to sing and dance together.
Soulideth, a Lao tour guide, expressed his delight while
watching the Cross-Border Spring Festival Gala: “It’s truly a nov-
elty to enjoy performances like musical instrument playing
and magic tricks on the train. The journey on the Chi-
na-Laos Railway keeps getting more wonderful.” Anna
from Australia and her German friend have planned
their trip to Vientiane, Laos, via the China-Laos Rail-
way. “This is our first time visiting Laos. On the train,
we enjoyed Yunnan’s Pu’er tea and coffee and admired the
window decorations, which were full of the festive spirit of the
Spring Festival.”
“Several of us old friends are retired and wanted to expe-
rience the atmosphere of the Chinese Spring Festival, so we
embarked on this journey on the China-Laos Railway,” said
Lao passenger Kinda (transliteration). A few days earlier, he
fed seagulls and enjoyed rice noodles in Kunming, and now
he is taking home Yunnan specialties like flower cakes
and tamarind cakes. “Yunnan has so many unique snacks
that I want to take them all with me. The Spring Festival
is a great opportunity to savor various Chinese delicacies.
I’ve already tried the smoked sausages that are traditionally
eaten during the Spring Festival.” Passenger Kampan (trans-
literation) from Luang Prabang, Laos, added that the sausages in
Luang Prabang have a different flavor compared to those in China, and
he plans to bring some to share with his Chinese friends next time. German
blogger Robert echoed this sentiment, saying, “I brought my mother to visit China, and
she has praised the spicy and delicious taste of hot pot. There are so many delectable
foods in Yunnan that I can’t possibly introduce them all!”
Thai passenger Song Ji (transliteration) and his friends took the China-Laos Rail-
way international passenger train that day, arriving in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. As
