Over a thousand spring flower-viewing products have been
launched on major tourism platforms in China. March flower-view-
ing tours have more than quadrupled in popularity since last year,
making them a spring travel industry highlight.
Data reveals that since mid-February, the search volume for
“flower-viewing” related terms has nearly tripled compared to the
previous month, and the booking volume for flower-viewing prod-
ucts has increased by 2.7 times.
In March, flowers bloom all over Yunnan. It’s the right time for
local residents and tourists to have a spring outing and enjoy the
beauty of flowers.
Amid the vernal breeze of March, the snow-white pear flowers
are blooming these days in the Biyehong village of Gejiu city, south
Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, inviting in
crowds of tourists.
Pear trees are planted on 14,000 mu (933.3 ha) of land in the
village. In 2023, the village’s output of Lusha pears reached 20,000
tons, bringing 40 million yuan to local villagers.
Moreover, more than 7,000 mu (about 466.67 hectare) of pear
trees are blooming these days in Wanxichong village of Chenggong
district, central Yunnan’s Kunming city, inviting in crowds of tour-
ists.
March and April mark the prime season for outings to enjoy the
spring scenery, with cherry blossoms being a favorite among many
tourists.
Since March, the search popularity for cherry blossom viewing
and outings in Yunnan province has surged by 257% compared to
previous periods, with the top three searched cities being Kunming,
Yuxi, and Qujing. Cherry blossoms not only embellish the springtime
cityscape but also drive urban tourism and consumption.
Businesses in scenic areas, hotels, homestays, and entertainment
have capitalized on this wave of the “cherry blossom economy,”
introducing various new products such as cherry blossom fermented
glutinous rice, cakes, milk tea, themed homestays, and manicures.
This is sparking a new wave of consumption.
In this season of all things recovery, Yunnan is full of spring, rape
flowers, sunflowers, kapok, and tulips are intertwined. Flowers show
their most beautiful posture on the branches, waiting for tourists to
come to Yunnan for a spring sea of flowers about.
