cultivation has flourished in Yunnan, introducing its captivating aromas to

given rise to a thriving coffee-themed agritourism scene. Tourists from all
new tourist destinations corners are flocking to Yunnan, seeking the distinct experience of combining
coffee with tourism.
咖啡庄园成旅游新目的地 One striking sight in Dakaihe Village, Nanping Town, Simao District,
Pu’er City, is the unique Moon Meditation House. Constructed using coffee
grounds and other repurposed materials, this brown-colored structure stands
out amidst the surroundings. Within the Moon Meditation House, tourists can
sip on coffee, capture memorable photos, and bask in its serene atmosphere.
Looking through the perforated walls, they can marvel at the picturesque
view of floating clouds and majestic mountains. During nighttime, they can
indulge in stargazing, immersing themselves in the beauty of the starlit sky.
Liu Ziyue, a tourist hailing from Guangdong Province, had the pleasure
of spending an afternoon at the Moon Meditation House. He described the
experience of enjoying a cup of coffee while immersed in the very envi-
ronment where the coffee is grown as truly unique. The tranquil mountains
surrounding the house provided a soothing ambiance, allowing him to fully
unwind.
Hua Runmei, manager of the coffee plantation, said that even during the
current local tourism off-season, the plantation continues to welcome over
500 tourists each day. In order to explore new possibilities in coffee produc-
tion, some coffee shop owners also make their way there to handpick fresh
coffee beans and experiment with innovative fermentation methods.
With the increasing popularity of Pu’er coffee among consumers, Aini, Man-
ya, and other coffee plantations have gained widespread recognition through
online platforms. During the annual coffee picking season, which lasts from
November to March, coffee enthusiasts and entrepreneurs from all corners of the
country, and even from around the world, flock to Pu’er to immerse themselves
in the laid-back and unhurried lifestyle that the region offers.
Aini Garden, one of the coffee plantations, integrates rainforests along-
side coffee bushes. In this innovative planting model, a sprawling area of
1,000 hectares thrives with a diverse array of coffee tree varieties, including
Geisha. Within the plantation, a team of skilled employees operates machin-
ery such as the smart color sorter in the production line of cold brew coffee
concentrate.
Deng Jiayou, general manager of the industrial department at Yunnan Aini
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (Group) Co Ltd, said that visitors at the
plantation have the opportunity to engage in coffee bean picking alongside
local farmers, and make their own cup of Pu’er coffee. Additionally, they can
explore the deep processing production line to gain a comprehensive under-
standing of the intricate techniques involved in coffee processing. Moreover,
they can embark on a horseback ride through the expansive, pollution-free
plateau pasture, beholding captivating views of the sea of clouds and basking
under the starry skies amidst the vast mountains.
“It’s absolutely amazing!” some tourists exclaimed as they witnessed
the captivating transformation of coffee beans into products like cold brew
freeze-dried powder and cold brew concentrate. Xia Mengjie, hailing from
Hunan Province, dedicated two full days to immerse themselves in the rich
coffee culture, explore the intricate techniques of coffee production, and
indulge in the breathtaking beauty of nature. “The integration of nature and
modern industry is truly mesmerizing, creating an atmosphere where time
seems to slow down,” Xia said.
